Meet the team
My name is Kate, and I established Tigger’s Nursery School in 1994. Childcare has always been my life’s passion, and for over 30 years I have been dedicated to creating a nurturing, safe, and inspiring environment where young children can learn, grow, and feel truly valued. From the very beginning, my vision for Tigger’s was to build more than just a nursery — I wanted to create a small, caring community where children feel happy, secure, and excited to come each day. It has been a privilege to welcome generations of families through our doors, and I continue to feel incredibly proud of the community we have built together.
I’m Karen, the SEN Lead at Tiggers. I am passionate about Early Years and love my role as a key person, especially the meaningful interactions and responsibilities that come with supporting children’s development. I also enjoy planning learning alongside our team and making sure our curriculum is engaging, inclusive, and inspiring for every child.
Hi I’m Tracy, I’m support staff. I have been working at Tigger’s for over 20 years and I love every minute. I enjoy seeing the children learn through play especially in our outside area. As well as being with the children, I’m a safeguarding deputy. I support with keeping all our children safe, healthy and happy.
Hi my name is Maddie, I gained my level three qualification whilst working at Tigger’s. Learning on the job has broadened my knowledge through real life experience. I love helping every child grow to their full potential, at their own pace. It is truly magical watching all the children shine at Tigger’s. I am also deputy SENCO, I support Karen with anything SEN and this has always been a passion of mine.
My name is Annabelle, I’m a level 3 T level student in early years and I’m in college three days a week and the other two day in placement at Tiggers. I love coming to learn and expand on my knowledge through the children, as this is exactly what I’d like to do as my future job. I was actually a Tigger myself, so I always look forward to coming back.
At Tigger’s Nursery School, we are very lucky to have two special members of our team – Heron and Myrtle, our wonderful Pets As Therapy (PAT) dogs.
Heron and Myrtle visit the nursery to help create a calm, happy and nurturing environment for the children. Spending time with friendly therapy dogs can help children build confidence, develop empathy, and learn gentle and respectful ways to interact with animals.
The children love greeting Heron and Myrtle, giving them gentle strokes, and sometimes sitting quietly with them during story time or calm activities. Their presence can be especially comforting for children who may feel a little shy or need a moment to relax.
Both dogs are fully trained and assessed through the Pets As Therapy programme, ensuring they are safe, gentle, and well suited to working with young children. All interactions are always carefully supervised by staff.
